Thumbscrew 1.0b9
Few more bugfixes in this release:
- .jpg instead of .jpeg
- You can use a rotation of 0, and I added it explicitly to the list of values in the popup. A lot of people didn't seem to understand that the combo boxes can have arbitrary values typed in.
There is still some work to be done with the web page creation. I plan on working on it some more, but I know these are the issues that were being reported the most after the latest release.
Thumbscrew 1.0b9 (Fixed link. Thanks, Marco)
Hi.
Sorry, but the download URL is invalid, the filename has got a '-' instead of a '_'.

Thanks, it's working great :-)
I was wondering whether it would be possible for the user to choose between letting Thumbscrew randomly choosing an angle with the given max value limiting the choice, and actually specifying the value manually?

Hello again,
When dropping a .png image (generated by ImageConverter) dragged from the Desktop onto Thumbscrew in the Dock, it pops-up a dialog with the following error:
(ValueError: application:openFiles:: did not return None, expecting void return value)
With "Quit" and "Continue" buttons.
The console log has the following:
=====
(ValueError: application:openFiles:: did not return None, expecting void return value)
2005-09-02 14:11:35.991 Thumbscrew[22878] An exception has occured:
Traceback (most recent call last):
File "PyObjCTools/AppHelper.pyc", line 237, in runEventLoop
ValueError: application:openFiles:: did not return None, expecting void return value
======
The thumbnails are generated correctly, however. It's just annoying having to dismiss the dialog everytime.

Hello,
I saw your app in a "Call for help" show up here in Canada. i am impressed by what you did.
Now, it might sound silly but I've decided to give a shot to MacOSX using the leaked OSX86 images on bit torrent. As such, your application runs in emulation PPC mode using Rosetta. I would understand if you refuse to answer my question (pirating is obviously not good) but do you know why it does not work on the Apple Intel dev kit image? (when you drop a jpg on Thumbscrew, the CPU works a little bit but nothing else happens).
I like the simplicity of your app. I'd like to use it for my personal website.
PS: The easy answer would be to go buy a mini mac. I know.

Hi, Jack.
No, I don't know why it doesn't run on the Intel dev kit (haven't scrounged up the grand to try it out). I'm not a fan of pirating, no, so I won't be able to find out until I have proper hardware. I'm very interested about the "Call for help" show, though, do you have a URL?

"Call for Help" is the wonderful Leo Laporte's show. It's on here in the States on G4TV (formerly G4TechTv, formerly TechTV, formerly ZDTV, etc.)

Hello,
Thumbscrew doesn't seem to wrok in 10.4.8
Do you have plans to uodate the app? Thumbscrew is a hot item on the RapidWeaver forum. Many people try to us it with Ligtbox.js
