Bigger == Better

X-Large iMac

Scientists from the RAND Corporation have created this model to illustrate how a "home computer" could look like in the year 2004. However the needed technology will not be economically feasible for the average home. Also the scientists readily admit that the computer will require not yet invented technology to actually work, but 50 years from now scientific progress is expected to solve these problems. With teletype interface and the Fortran language, the computer will be easy to use.

A Fine November Weekend

Urbanna, Virginia, "the small drinking village with an oyster problem", hosts an Oyster Festival each year during the first weekend in November. Normally, we'd camp out with friends and enjoy bivalves and drinking and music and debauchery. Unfortunately, this year, we're still working on the house. But we took time off on Saturday to go down and enjoy the day.

And we made some progress in the upstairs bathroom. We laid another inch-and-a-half of cement in the shower to finalize the shower pan. Next stop: more tile. We also moved the tub in to get a sense of how the space would work out. We can't wait to be done with the bathroom. It's going to be fabulous.

The painter came this weekend to work on the trim. He couldn't make it out on Saturday, so most of the trim only has primer on it. Even so, it still looks great!

My Polling Place

It was packed this morning, and apparently had been since the polls opened at six o'clock. The gentleman in front of me said he'd been voting at our location for twenty years and had never seen it so full of people. We waited in line about thirty-five minutes, did our secret business, and got our sticker.

Make sure you know where to vote and please, do so!
